working women through scholarships, research, and education. Scholarships are awarded to women 20 years or older who are returning to school to acquire better job opportunities. Arizona Business and Professional Women's Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law. |
Giving to Change the FutureScholarships and Endowments | How to ApplyScholarship InformationThe Arizona Business and Professional Women's Foundation offers scholarships to women 20 years or older who are returning to school to acquire better job opportunities. Currently, contributions to the AZBPW Foundation are designated to one of these scholarships: BPW/AZ Foundation ScholarshipsThis general scholarship provides funds available to all Arizona community colleges. Dr. Dorine Chancellor EndowmentThis fund was established in 1990. Initial funding was provided by 25 special friends of Dr. Chancellor, known as "Hearts of the Endowment." These and other BPW members have continued funding the endowment. Scholarships may be awarded at any Arizona community college, with one always assured at Eastern Arizona College. Crowell EndowmentThe Lynda Crowell Memorial Endowment was established in 1999. Initial funding was provided by Metropolitan BPW with proceeds from the first wine-tasting event and contributions in memory of Lynda. Scholarships are available to all community colleges in Maricopa County. Muriel Lothrop-Ely EndowmentEstablished in 2006, the funding for this endowment came from from memorial contributions by family and friends, and an allocation from the Foundation's general fund. Available to all Arizona community colleges. Non TraditionalThe Non-Traditional Education for Women (NEW) scholarship was established in 1996 to provide funding for women pursuing a career in an occupation where 25% or less of the jobs are held by women. Applicants must be attending an Arizona school or institute. Allocations from the general fund and contributions from members provide funding. Women Who Made a DifferenceThe Women Who Made a Difference Scholarship, originally called the "Founders" scholarship, was established in 1992 with proceeds from the sale of the first book, Women Who Made a Difference. It was originally designated for BPW members only, but is now open to all applicants. Funds are available to women who are attending any Arizona community college or university. First consideration will be given to a person who is a member of Arizona BPW. The Women Who Made a Difference Fund can be used for any scholarship determined by the Trustees. A foundation committee determines scholarship recipients. Funds will be sent to the school, which will allocate them to the student's account. |
